The Seerah (biography) of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) serves as the Uswah Hasana (the best exemplar) for every individual at every moment of life until the Day of Resurrection. His sacred persona provides a comprehensive life model capable of harmonizing with the most modern circumstances and offers solutions to every challenge—provided one adopts it as a guiding light to illuminate the darkness of their life.
The modern era is defined by specialization; every field of knowledge now demands expert focus. Within Islamic Sciences, specializations in Exegesis (Tafsir), Hadith, and Jurisprudence (Fiqh) are well-established. Similarly, specializing in Seerah has become a contemporary necessity. While various university departments are dedicated to Seerah studies, a structured specialization remains notably absent in traditional religious seminaries (Madaris).
Therefore, this article highlights the importance and necessity of "Specialization in Seerah" (Takhassus-fi-al-Seerah) for the graduates of religious seminaries, aiming to draw the attention of seminary administrators and students toward this discipline. Furthermore, light is shed on a proposed curriculum for religious seminaries and their representative boards (Wifaqs), developed in the light of curricula from various global universities and the recommendations of subject matter experts.
