In the modern educational era, Quranic education, particularly the fields of Hifz and Nazrah, faces new challenges due to changing learner behaviors, digital influences, academic pressures, and evolving educational expectations. This research explores the development of a balanced educational model for fostering sustainable attachment of learners with the Qur’an within the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB) school system. The study examines the compatibility between contemporary learner-centered educational approaches and the spiritual, intellectual, and moral objectives of Quranic education.
The research highlights the significant role of mentors as facilitators, guides, and تربیت providers who can enhance learners’ emotional connection, motivation, and long-term engagement with the Qur’an. It analyzes the importance of modern pedagogical strategies, including technology integration, activity-based learning, individualized guidance, continuous feedback, and psychological understanding of learners. The study further identifies major factors contributing to learners’ lack of interest, such as reduced motivation, limited personal connection with Quranic teachings, and inappropriate instructional approaches.
Based on Islamic educational principles and modern educational theories, the research proposes a comprehensive framework that integrates spiritual development, conceptual understanding, and practical application. The proposed model emphasizes that Quranic learning should move beyond memorization alone and promote reflection, character building, and lifelong commitment to the words of Allah. The study concludes that a harmonious integration of traditional Quranic values with contemporary educational methodologies can create an effective and sustainable system for Quranic education in modern IB school environments.
